Programs
The purpose of S.T.A.F.F. is unique because we will provide educational training, scholarship assistance, mentorship programs, internships, financial literacy, entrepreneurship development, and tutoring programs to student athletes. We are champions of the ideal that athletics’ can be competitive academically.
There are four components to our program, Junior High, High school, College, and the Pros. S.T.A.F.F. is the foundation to build the infrastructure for students and their parents in junior high and/or high school. Our organization will bridge the gap between being a great student and a great athlete. We feel that time is one of the many challenges. Due to the intense schedule required to be great players, some of them fail to focus on academics. Therefore, most of the student athletes do not pick a real major in college in certain cases. Sometimes they come out early and enter the draft without a clear career path for afterwards. In many cases, the students are really not mentally or academically prepared for what is thought of as natural progression from high school to college, much less the pros like the NFL. All of the colleges typically do a tremendous job of providing assistance, oversight and tutors to keep students on task with their college work. The big challenges are that their study habits, time management skills, commitment awareness, and discipline are not in order. This is not a university’s responsibility. Although it works for some students, the vast majority of them struggle in one or more of these areas. By being able to participate in mentorship programs, internships with former athletics, and access to successful entrepreneurs, the students will be better prepared to succeed. These are some of the many ways students can make an impact by being involved in the variety of programs and earn potential scholarship opportunities:
S.T.A.F.F. will aid in scholarships in a variety of ways:
- Bus tours for high school football players through RAW Talent. This is truly one of Christian F. Cartwright’s enjoyable experiences (attending major colleges, meeting coaches, and competing in drills for potential scholarship opportunities)
- Entrepreneurial scholars are to receive $2,700 towards books for tutoring
- Matching Scholarship program
- Book Scholarship program
- Academic Scholarship Program
We will match students and their majors with internship opportunities in their career path to obtain real life experiences and potential permanent employment. This kind of job training is paramount to students. Not only will they meet mentors, but they will really gain an in depth understanding of their field of choice. There will be opportunities and instances to become a full-time, part-time, and/or flex-time employee, should the student desire to be with the company.
This is such a critical part of the student’s life starting now, through college, and thereafter. Today, this will become the basis for students as they transition in to mainstream and how they will handle their credit, budgeting, and savings, just to name a few. This is the beginning of financial wellness. One of our partners, Equity Movement, is offering free online webinars and streaming courses to teach and train in this space.
Our goal is to help students become financially conscientious in life experiences as it relates to money.
S.T.A.F.F. is always looking to network and collaborate with entrepreneurs who will aid in assisting young men and women to develop into successful entrepreneurs. One of the partners, Equity Movement, offers “Evolving Entrepreneurs” which focuses on Gen-Z (Generation Z) to develop and cultivate ideas and ventures.
This also includes one of our scholarship programs for entrepreneurs that will pay a maximum of $2,700 and a minimum of $1,000 per student based on our annual funding.
We offer this as an alternative for a worthy student that may be pursuing a trade, craft, and/or a small business as opposed to a 4-year degree.
We will guide students to tutoring programs as well as offer online and in person tutoring for reading, writing, and math.
Subject matters!
This will assist students to improve their grades and uplift them academically. Our goal is to help fill the gaps between what is offered in high school and other tutoring services. We are here to enhance (not substitute or replace) effective programs that are already in place.
